contract in Fun times

Well got my first draft of the contract I ask what happens if I don’t sign it he said it proves I’m not willing to try but I don’t have to sign it if I don’t want to. but how can it get better if you don’t try? I ask does it mean I don’t get my stuff back. My stepdad said You get the same things back either way. I ask whats that means? I’m not making you sign it is up to you and walked out. not sure I can come out a head-on this.
