I will say this… prior to the onset of COVID19 protections, I was thinking that going into the office was stupid. There was no point to it, it was lame, I didn’t want to do it. I could just work from home, no problem. Fuck going into the office, my predecessor rarely did! Now? I’m becoming aware of how going in to the office is GOOD for me and GOOD for my job. Going into the office provides a needed separation between Home Chris and Work Chris. It provides a bright line personality marker that who Chris is in County Seat is different than who Chris is in IF. It gives me the opportunity to get away from “my space” and enter into a “shared space”. Which mostly means, my brain and heart are able to process things differently. Not to mention the fact that actually going IN to the office typically means I see 3 to 8 people every day. That’s nice, too.
TL;DR: When this is all over, I think I’ll be happier to go into work than I was prior.
