A blurp in The Amalgamated Aggromulator

This is me trying to break my idiotic posting drought.
And of course, for once, I have been consumed with trying to grok the same things everyone else has. The coronavirus. Our cootie wave. And the psychology and the math and the politics and everything else.
I’d have been a crashing bore if it weren’t all so important. It’s all been in shorter-form social media. Twitter is my research web. Which it’s great for. If you have the habit of adding the smartest sources you can, it can get good (well, as good as your discernment of who’s smart). Facebook… I’ve been amused and kind of pleased at how the dynamic has shifted from the completely true stuff about Facebook being a nasty garbage-filled corrupted platform and how we should get out of it to the urgent business of trying to put as much good information in there as possible because for Chrissakes your family and your friends are in there.
And we’re all (or very widely) in this special position of cooling our heels.
I was noticing how fresh the air outside was. Maybe that’s just our spring. But polluted cities like Delhi are suddenly, well, one story quoted the word “alpine”.
I can tell I haven’t been writing in here. I’m too focused on what I’m doing as I’m doing it. The ridiculous state.
But the long-form brain needs exercise. There’s a rant that should be here, that urgently needs to be. About what we can maintain.
I ought to. A get-up-at-four project.
I’m going to have to try to revisit and write a series of little assaults. Clear away the cobwebs. Make the muscles ready to do something other than be conscious that they’re muscles.
— HA. Oh my gosh. I wrote this in Wordpad and then I came in to paste it in… The “Write new entry” had saved the very long beginning of a heroic effort to discuss That Joseph Conrad Novel With The Least Discussable Title.
I remember this!
It’s beyond my powers at the moment to shift gears and set out to continue that. I’ve saved it to a file so I can take it up soon. It’s good to know that I tried to have something underway.
