The Following of Ren McHardy in Thoughts On...

My usual Tuesday Thoughts On…The Following.

Seems kind of odd that Ren McHardy (Ryan Hardy + Ren McCormick), who is hell bent on catching Joe, has time to think about getting laid. But that is what he does with the sketchy reporter chick. We all know she is in on the whole Joe thing right? I mean didn’t they pretty much set the tone early on that everyone Ren gets in bed with is somehow connected to The Cult of Joe?

And last week Claire popped up alive and well in some super secret pay by the hour notell motel room. This week we learned that she had a punctured lung and was going to be fine. Funny how she is in a hospital bed and told this while not wearing any oxygen and not having any trouble breathing or crying and no it is not two weeks later, it is while Ryan is in surgery. So I guess they don’t have a medical advisor on staff. No oxygen at all. No leads, no monitors, and she is perfectly coherent so no pain medications? But Ren McHardy is in surgery. And she has to decide right when she wakes up if she wants to go into Witness Protection. Oh and she can’t tell Ren. Yep, that tracks about right.

How is Max still alive? I figured her for a four episode run, but yet she is still around. And can she and Mike either just do it or can he just tell her he’s gay? I am tired of this back and forth shit. I don’t think he’s gay, but that is a great twist no?

How if Ren McHardy is off the book as they say, did he not torture anyone this week? Isn’t that every serial killer trackers wet dream? To be able to torture people to get the information? I mean Jack Bauer did it on a 24 hour basis for fuck’s sake. He also got his guy at the end of the 24 hours, unlike Ren McHardy.

The only thing that could redeem this season at this point is if Joe Carroll bans dancing and Ren McHardy leads a revolution.
