a wise man told me Sunday
a wise man who poses as a fool
a wise man who poses as a fool that's posing as a wise man
he told me Sunday
and I'm paraphrasing here
because my memory is bad
but he told me Sunday

weird is great
weird is amazing
I am very weird
you are very weird
it's okay
it's who we are, buddy

and even crazy can be good
as long as it is positive crazy
and it's only a little bit
I'm a little bit crazy
you're a little bit crazy
but we're positive crazy, buddy
negative crazy is bad
angry crazy is bad
disrespectful selfish crazy is bad
we have to respect each other
we have to support each other
we gotta watch out for each other

and when people are negative crazy
just hurting people
just disrespecting people
just selfish negative crazy
they have to go
they're not allowed

a wise man told me this
as I gave him a lift to buy cigarettes
from a weird little grocery store in not the safest part of town
and it was maybe the most profound thing
I have heard in my life

weird is great
even a little crazy can be great
as long as it is positive crazy
but negative crazy you have to go
you have to go away
you have to go

and this was a wise man
who poses as a fool saying this
this was a wise man
who so many people think is a fool saying this
you can only say these things
if you pose as a fool
who everything thinks is crazy
when you're really just incredibly weird and well-lived

we gotta push out the negative crazy, buddy
oh man

I'm glad I helped you
go get your cigarettes
