Its for stress. in Secrets of a crafty witch

Hobbies are good for you. Because they keep you calm and help with stress. So yeah. its for stress.

I ordered 16 oz of mixed fiber which i got in the mail yesterday. Today i carded 4 bats. Sold 2 then she wanted a custom. I used what was left to make her custom. 3 bats down. still have some fiber left and that paid for my buying it. I have over half left and its really for blending with other wools. Its a mixed random wool. Some is a waste. Utter trash. Others are nice enough. It was cheap overall so not complaining.

Anyway i figure ill share lots of photos :)

Custom purple and greens

you still cant see how shiny it is. I suck at photographing shiny things. Weird huh.

Here is another one. Red orange gold burgendy rust and more colors layered into this one. With gold sparkles. This one im keeping.

Unicorn hair again. Audra always picks unicorn hair colors pink purple blue aquas. No shiny in this one.

This one is ALL shiny. Its mostly mohair and wensleydale. The wool has natural sheen :) Its really pretty. Oh it does have a core with some merino in it. Thats right. (sold)

blue and green with gold tints (sold) this one was cool too. Smallest of my bats but i didnt have any more blues. Its really soft!!

Then i washed wool. First i blew it out (dry) for a good 20 minutes. Then i washed it. The blowing removes a LOT of the dirt before i have to wash it. Seeing we pay for water it helps to not use 500 gallons of water washing wool :P

Then i lay it all out to dry in the sun. This time on a half finished rabbit hutch. I had 3 lbs of fawn to wash and 1 lb grey. I got 1.5 fawn washed and the grey.

i got a new spindle. Its different then a typical spindle. This i a mayan twist spindle. You actually spin the paddle around which winds the twist. Then you spread it down the wool and wrap the finished wool on the paddle. Then repeat lol.

Its a novelty. It actually hurts my wrist to use it too much. I think it will be a lot of fun to demo at craft shows and fiber festivals. Not much for me to spin on for long however. Ill stick to my wheels.

Anyway thats my day :) Got some wool washed and drying, got lots carded. Now im finishing my knitting cowl while directing kids to clean.

its distracting at the very least.
