what glitters, my friend
is means to many of an end
but there’s no earthly way
to spend all of that hard
fought and harder won gold
if we find ourselves swung
from the bottom of the
city gallowman’s pole
inner-most dreams separated
from our innards and spleens
by a sharpened battle axe
in one or two clean wacks
facts are facts are facts
lets not lose our heads
in pursuit of fat stacks

everyone that you’ve been
everything that you’ve seen
is all threaded into
life’s rich tapestry

a few can see the seams
a few can parse the weave
maybe tug at the loose ends
of magic’s majesty

it’s not exactly a spell
it’s not exactly that hard
it’s just that all the
stage is a world when
you know how to bard
