We are experiencing the general chaos that is affecting a lot of the world right now. The kids did not have school on Thursday, and today was already a scheduled conference day with no school for the kids. No word on whether we will have school next week. I just saw that a few states have closed schools for the entire state. We will see how it goes.

I am glad Kayla and Timmy were able to do the musical. That is one weekend, so it really would have been disappointing if they weren’t able to do that. Aaron has finished indoor track season. If school is closed for an extended period of time, there will be online learning. As far as the twins, they are taking a fairly demanding course load, with Honors and Advanced Placement courses. Still, it is almost the spring of their senior year. The cynic in me wonders how often they would have been attending class in any event. I seem to remember missing a few classes in the spring of my senior year. Maybe the impact on the twins will not actually be that great. Timmy and Kayla do like playing baseball and softball. Aaron is thinking of doing outdoor track. We will see how spring sports are affected. Also, we will have to figure out how the prom and graduation will be handled.

I am fortunate that my kids are old enough to be left alone. I still give them a lot of supervision, but I don’t have to be with them every minute. I don’t know how parents with young children would deal with an extended school closure, especially if they don’t have paid time off.

As far as college, the twins have an idea of which schools they want to attend. They have until May 1st to decide. We were able to revisit their top choice schools since they have been accepted.

My dad spent a week in Belgium after he went to see the musical. He came back on Sunday. He was fortunate that he got back before travelers from Europe were banned. Although I think Americans can still come in? I guess he would have been able to come in but maybe would have had to go to a different airport.

We have enough supplies for a few weeks if we have to stay home. I am still working, although not sure how much business I will have. My husband has a job where he can telecommute.

I rearranged my plants on a table that is a family heirloom. However, I am concerned about dripping water on the wooden table. I am thinking of getting a topper for the table so that the water would not spill directly onto the wood.
