it isn’t just for your own mourning
it’s worry for the living lost in grief
it’s an act you fear they’re just performing
through the occluding looking glass that is belief

it’s worry for the living lost in grief
slipping further day-by-aching-day
through the occluding looking glass that is belief
all their futures that just may pass away

slipping further day-by-aching-day
drifting out long past our stay
all their futures that just may pass away
a process knowing no delay

it is what lingers post-disaster
it’s an act you fear they’re just performing
your heart bound in a cast of plaster
it isn’t just for your own mourning
