Here I am again! ⋅ 67 ⋅

My husband and I are empty-nesters (finally! yaaaay!!), nearly sixty years old, and both of us work for our state's public school system. We live in the countryside in a rather humble little home with our dog, a sweet-natured chocolate Lab named Guinness. We are Wiccan and members of a large esoteric tradition called The Assembly of the Sacred Wheel. Much of our lives are filled with going to spiritual events; much is also filled by spending time with our family, and enjoying the outdoors.

Thousands or maybe even millions of women are going to be marching tomorrow, in Washington DC and in Philadelphia and other big cities. They are marching in protest of the inauguration of Donald...

Today I did some of the yoga exercises while Joe walked Guinness. :o) I tried to have the DVD set up before Joe got home, but OF COURSE I remembered only two steps of the “how to work this damn D...

Well, so I had Joe instruct me on how to use the DVR or DVD player or whatever it’s called. You might wonder why I didn’t know already, but I don’t watch DVDs, have no desire to, and that’s why. ...

I’m not a worrier. Used to be!!!! But over the years, I have learned that FOR ME, anyway, and by extension “us,” things always turn out fine. They don’t always turn out that way for others, but ...

A Friend. :o) in A New Beginning

I am a lot happier at work this year than I have been for the past two or three years, because of our new Cook/Baker, Jennifer. I didn’t know her well until she came to work at our school, but o...

I am not thrilled about being wrong. Who is?! But once I realize it, and learn something, either from someone or otherwise, I actually LIKE telling about it. Admitting that one made a mistake eq...

Ha! I started thinking this morning (imagine that!)....”I had once started a blog where I could put pictures in the entries somewhere, but where was it?!” So I started looking up every blogsite I...

We got around six inches of snow here on Saturday, but some places around us got as much as ten or even twelve. It’s funny how that works! Anyhow, Sunday it was sunny and beautiful but stayed goo...

Husband Shaming! in A New Beginning

So, we are in the midst of what-in-Delaware-passes-for-a-snowstorm here, and Joe just “HAD” to drive almost three hours away to go to a damn book study meeting with his freakin’ coven! Mind you, ...

I am glad I started writing here again. I am finding that putting words on here is waking my brain back up, so that I have been coming up with more interesting tales to tell on FB also. I had re...

I’m pretty sure it’s the co-workers, because I genuinely love my job. It’s not that common a thing for people to love their jobs, methinks, and perhaps the reason is that everyONE and everyTHING...

This is my last day of Christmas break, but I am not unhappy about having to go to work tomorrow. One thing happened that has made working at my school so much more palatable than it has been, an...

I haven’t written here in a year and a half or so-ish. I had been satisfied with writing on Facebook, but lately I’ve been wanting more. Ya know, it is hard to find a blogsite that’s “just right”...

I have blathered this all over Facebook already, and many of you are my FB friends, but I want to share it with those who aren’t too.... Yesterday I had my parathyroidectomy. We were at the hospi...

This morning as Joe and I set forth to walk Guinness before we went on our outing, I thought how proud I am of us for learning to be good dog owners....and how learning to be a good dog owner has...

I am just so pleased with this new Self I am, who has emerged from the year or so of depression, like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon, so much better a creature than when I went in there! :o...

Today I am staying home, NOT going to my coven meeting. And I did not make up a lie or even try to sound pitiful; I just told Annie that I was exhausted (which was true), hadn’t had a whole day t...

We have an excellent strawberry patch this year! It is full of blossoms and small green strawberries, and in a few weeks we will be SUPER-busy picking ripe berries! :o) !! I hope to be able to ke...

…or as my Mom used to say, “Enough is enough, and too much is a dog’s mess!” Right now I am feeling like I am having too much of my coven this month! We’ve gotten together three times since May 1...

My niece Stef (sister Carol’s daughter) is always posting stuff about MOTHERS on Facebook. But it’s always stuff about herself, and what a diehard, dedicated, true-to-the-last mother SHE is; it’...

The past week was long and a bit tiring. I don’t really know why it seemed long. Work was not hard, though there were a couple of days when a couple of co-workers seemed to be trying to pawn as m...

My co-workers seem to think I like doing EVERYTHING. I’m serious! Oh, mind you....Lori (the Cook) knows I only want to cook the thing I am supposed to cook, and Connie (the Baker) knows I do not ...

Today Joe and I went our separate ways, to our respective covens; Beltaine rituals. At his, they danced around the Maypole. At ours, we leaped over the Bel fire. I used to be jealous of them, bec...

Honestly, I had gotten to the point where, aside from going to work and grouchily fixing supper, I was hardly doing ANYTHING....such was my depression and exhaustion level prior to Joey’s moving ...
