Attack of the heart

Dear Diary, Yesterday was a nothing kind of day. I slept a lot, despite spending most of Tuesday asleep. These days it seems I’m either walking around in the small hours with a busy brain or I’m...

Ok, so I exaggerate. I started writing this entry in a notebook this morning, whilst I had an hour, or so, to kill without a reliable connection or keyboard. It’s a literary notebook which sound...

The Poo Trials

Dear Diary, You can't say you haven't been given due warning. The word Poo is in the title! I wonder why it is considered unacceptable to talk about poo, we all do it after all. I'll start by...

Just go, damnit!

Dear Diary, I feel a greater sense of loss at OD going than I ever thought I would. Have spent more hours than are healthy reading the diaries of various people over the last few days. I hate ...

Finding my writing mojo

A fresh start

Dear diary, After a long break from blogging I am back with avengence. Disappointed to find the site of my old blog is slowly dying a death which lead me to this place. Perhaps for the best,...

Book Description

Time to start afresh with a new blog.

I am a slightly eccentrice mum of 2, Tris 15 and Choo 14. They are frequently referred to as the Boychild and Girlchild. They are my raison d’etre althought this is unlikely to be a ‘Mommy blog’. My household is equally blessed and cursed with the Pomdog. A completely barmy springer who is now 10 and a half but behaves like a puppy. Household is completed with my long suffering OH aka the Hunk.

Three years ago I was involved in a car crash that has triggered a condition called fibromyalgia, this threatens to rule my life but I refuse to let it! I also suffer from chronic depression that, thankfully, is now well managed. Whilst I don’t envisage this being a place where I wallow or moan on there will undoubtedly be a bit of that.

Life is managed with a series of aids including walking cane, crutches and wheelchair. All of which should have L plates on them!

I work part time as a civil servant and that’ll be about all I write about work for fear of being ‘Dooced’. I harbour ambitions of setting up my own business one day creating and selling crafts. I’m no artist but I love crochet, knitting, sewing and anything a bit crafty. I am adequate at best in any of these fields.

Others in my life include my aged parentals (the APS), the Maggot and his partner Tampon. The ex and father of the sprogs and his new partner respectively. I say new partner, they have been together since 2 weeks after he left me when the Girlchild was 6 months old....hardly new! My Gran LJ and my big sis V and her partner O and my adorable niece, GV. I have another sister however we are largely estranged. I expect she, her partner and their baby due shortly will figure at some point.

I’m a refugee from Open diary and blogged there consistently for years before a long break. The minute i decide to return to blogging I find the site is dying a slow and painful death, so like many i have jumped ship.

It’s a while since I have blogged but have kept some sort of diary on and off since I was 9. I like being able to try and order my thoughts and find the space useful for my mental health. I invite you to pour a glass of something nice, pull up a pew and join me. I suspect this place will be full of love, life and inevitably laundry, some of it dirty!
