All our granddaughter Zoe wanted was a dragon. We have taken her to concerts and to other things, but she was a typical small child. The first year we took her to Comic Con, she was nervous about it all. The second time we took her, she was a little iffy. This time, she was looking forward to going to Comic Con. She was so excited that she had trouble sleeping, but she was very much an adult all day.

That’s a hard thing for a twelve year old to do.

While I worked scanning cards, she went to the new Lego Scooby Doo movie with Grampa George. She loved it. We met and they plotted out how to find the dragon booth on the exhibit floor. We didn’t stop to view anything just went straight arrow to the booth they wanted.

Yes, both she and Grampa were appalled by the prices of the larger dragons. Zoe was charmed to talk to the man who actually made them, and settled on a smaller blue beastie than she initially wanted. She knew her money wasn’t enough, but grandpa made her pay half while he picked up the rest.

Yes, she fell asleep on the trolley, and I bet she fell asleep on the way home with her mother too.

  • Himself: Still tired from his lack of sleep. Monday and Tuesday were awful at work. Did just the hot tub today.

  • Herself: Comic Con brain has vanished, but I vastly overdid at the pool and stretch class at the gym my first day back. Yes, go ahead and laugh; I am. I took it really easy today after three hours of moving bags of books at work yesterday.

  • Reading: ”All Things Wise and Wonderful,” Herriot; just delightful stuff.

  • Gratitude’s: Having Marta to clean the house.
