between the cold hard almost dreary almost-frozen rain
the not-yet-solstice endless obscured twilight night
and all the houses with their fancy new-ish
LED projector garish Christmas lights
my neighborhood looks like how the unseen
suburbs must’ve looked in BLADERUNNER
with a neon blimp above us blaring
“join the off-world christmas sales”
“a better life for all awaits you”
“on Amazon Prime”
