So the owner of the guest house got back in touch with me, saying he’d like to meet me. It sounded quite positive, I told him I was thinking of going to college to study hospitality management and he said he works with the local college, taking on students who are studying hospitality there. So I thought that sounded good, like he’d already considered taking me on. I’m not going to count my chickens though!
John thinks I should be transparent with my current boss and tell her I’m going for an interview. I think it’s a bit pointless myself. If I don’t get this job, I won’t be able to get on the college course anyway, and I’ll stay on at the shop.
I’m actually a bit nervous about making a leap of faith like this, it will be fewer hours and probably none once the tourist season ends. But I have to think of the long term. As much as I love working in the shop, there is no room for promotion and no chance of a wage increase. Plus a bit more experience in a different field of work will broaden my horizons if college doesn’t work out. Also, Google the road that runs alongside Crummock. That would be my commute!
Hark at me, talking as if I already have the job, haha!
Actually, here is a picture of the road. That white house in the distance is the guest house.

Tomorrow is going to be fun. I’m getting tattooed in the morning, then in the evening I’m going to watch Eleanor’s school production of Midsummer’s Night Dream in a forest!
