husk
label on the outside with your name
your history your credit card number
your diplomas family tree whatever
all that’s still there
all your signifiers
sound as the pound the whole world round but
is that all you are?

husk
have you been hollowed out?
is everything the wrapper tried to spell out
dead and empty on the inside?
are you just your old packaging
burnt out spent
shambling around
believe that it is still you?

husk
are you depleted?
are you lost?
are the seeds long scattered
are you just the dross?

husk
do you even know which you are?
if you do
what the fuck are you going to do about it?
