Can't sleep. Too early. in Adventures in paradise

I’m at the Gold Coast. At Brent’s place. I haven’t been able to sleep all night. This isn’t the first time it’s happened staying here. The second that I can recall.
So I’m currently in the media room as I got out of bed because I figured I was wasting my time just laying there with my eyes closed but not sleeping.

I think it’s because I’m so used to going to sleep when the sun is coming up, and going to sleep around midnight to 2am just doesn’t really work for me. That’s usual for friends who work day shifts. I simply don’t. It’s hard for me to adjust. Not to say that I always haven’t slept here before, because I have managed to more often than not. I think it must depend on how early or late I’ve woken up the previous day. That would make sense.

So now I just know I’ll go back in there and go to sleep for a while, before Brent wakes me at around 10am to take me to the train station, where I’ll be so overly tired I’ll just want to be off that damn train (It’s an hour trip back to Brisbane and I get motion-sickness pretty easily, especially if I’m trying to read something in a moving vehicle) and crawl into my own bed when I get home. I’ll more than likely be ignoring work if they try to call me in again tonight. All those hours I did last week turned out to be a nice paycheque last night. Mind you some of it will go straight to an electricity bill. Ergh, life huh.

Who knows, I may have a second burst and stay awake today, but I know myself too well. I’m getting older and tired-er by the day. Soon I’ll be taking midday naps on the couch every other day, just like my father always has. There’s probably some genetics in there somewhere.
