Busy, busy...... in blackpropaganda

At last, a quiet moment to write something - what with two concerts to go to - and an opening of an exhibition last evening it has been a hectic time - compounded by the fact the plumbers came back yesterday to flush out the central heating system where the chemicals have been sorting out gunge etc for the last week. They arrived at 8.30 am - two of them - and left at 3.30 pm - we were out at a concert over the lunchtime - and I was walking in the morning so we left them to it - but the chemicals had found a weakness in one of the pipe joints near the boiler - and we needed a new pump - we are taking out a mortgage when we have to pay the bill!! The good thing is that they agreed to put up a couple of new kitchen cabinets which have been hanging a round for a bit - no way I am drilling into tiles - all done very efficiently - and worth a few pounds to them. And then this morning we both had dental check ups - all OK, just a clean and a brush up - which is great - of course when I was a kid I had a lot of teeth taken out by a dentist who thought that was the best thing - none of the stuff today about preserving teeth - so I have a lot of gaps at the back. Stops them going bad! And now we are cleaning again before some people come in this evening for an informal wine tasting - a sort of theme party - we provide more of the bottles - there are snacks - everyone gets a taste of the wines - and the converstaion gets louder. We will start with a cava brut from Lidl (Arestel) which is great value - here it costs about £4.70 - in Spain we get the same wine for one euro 50!. Then I Have no idea what comes next - and some people will bring wines - and we have no blinds so the neighbours should have a good view of people drinking and chatting. Lots of dips, cheese etc to fill the gaps.

And next week autumn seems to be arriving - need to get the hot whiskeys in - note that - they must be Irish whiskeys!!
