Sport, sport..and patriotism in blackpropaganda

So, here we are all excited by the World Cup final tonight - not! We sha;; certainly watch it - but difficult in the UK to know who to support - Argentina still claiming the Malvinas (Falkland Islands) thirty years or more after the conflict - and Germany, well there is some history there. I hope Messi has an opportunity to show his skill - and Schweinsteiger lives up to his name in some way. The other main sporting event going on is the Tour de France which is wonderful for watching all the great areas of France, some of which we have been to. SW.. spends the afternoon on the sofa with her maps of France checking out where they are going. It will be on for another couple of weeks, so we know there is something to watch each day. The on Friday the cultural fest which is the Promenade Concerts - all broadcast live each evening from Friday - and many televised. Again - nothing on - hey listen to a Prom. In fact the tv schedules are all pretty thin - summer time is a waste of time for the advertisers - so they are already saying what is coming in the autumn - hey - the kids are still at school. I see that many shops are already doing Back to School displays too!!!!

And we saw this last night when we checked in last night for the thirdplace game between Brazil and Holland - we did not watch the match. Brazil lost again, by the way - the this was during national anthem of Brazil - we commented how wonderful it was - and now on Yahoo That's what patriotism is about when you are young - I am too cynical.
