Balls again... and more for the ladies in blackpropaganda

There is just too much going on - well, that is not strictly true, but the World Cup is taking up time - and SW... is keener than me - although I think she likes the statistics more than the football, and reading up from our WC booklet info about the players etc.

It is great how the favourites are being harried by 'lesser' teams - and Iran deserved to draw with Argentina yesterday - only a wonder goal by Messi made the difference in time added on. Oh, and the English players keep apologising for failing to deliver - looks like the PR machine there is working well. Apparently there are 75 backroom personnel with the English team - and the Iran players cannot exchange shirts after a match because they cannot afford it.

That's enough football. Other activities include walking, gardening, reading, cooking and watching more tv. Last night the Swedish version of Wallander finished on the BBC - there will be no more programmes about the morose Swedish policeman with a messed up life - and the last six programmes have been linked by the progression of his Alzheimers which he tried to disguise from his colleagues and daughter. Wonderful acting by the man playing Wallander, the moments of lucidity in the bouts of anger, memory loss - and briliiant showing the disintegration of his faculties. Very moving last night - and just a reminder of what many people face, both themselves, and their families.

And it is interesting that while Syria and Iraq go under the message to the UK from the politicians and police is the danger to us from militants coming back - looks like stricter security all round chaps.
